Sell Your Home Quicker With Curb Appeal

How many of you have heard the old saying "First impressions matter most". Whether you're going out on a date or selling a home, that statement is true.

From home sellers to first time property managers trying to rent their units, this fact seems to evade them. Curb appeal is the first impression when it comes to a house. Pure and simple. No one wants to live in a ugly house! This is the place that home buyers or renters want to drive by and go "Gee, I'd like to live there". This reason is the biggest reason you should pay careful attention and spend some degree of time and effort making the outside of the home appealing to the potential home buyers or renters.

Tips To Liven Up The Outside Of Your Home

The first place people see is the front of the home. Is the landscaping dull or yucky? Is the lawn mowed and trimmed neatly?

One of the few things most Home sellers overlook is the entry to the home and the front door. If you have to, replace old dull door knobs and coach lamps with new shiny hardware. If the dull is dull, refinish if it's a wood door. Painting is not out of the question and can give a nice warm inviting peace.

Does the outside of the home look like Fred Sanford lived there? If there is "stuff" laying around, get rid of it. Dead spots in the yard? Fill them in with fresh sod. Seasonal flowers from one of the big box stores like Lowes or Home Depot are cheap enough and can really bring a yard to life.

In the Las Vegas real estate market, the sales associates know what grows best and are more than happy to help you with your selection. Don't be afraid to ask, that's what they're there for. The point is to make the house as attractive on the outside as it is on the inside (it is appealing on the inside...right?)

It's also worth having the driveway, patio and sidewalks pressure washed if you haven't done so in a year or more. Many times, homeowners never realize how dingy their flatwork is until it's been cleaned. It is amazing what a high power pressure washer can do to your sidewalks, driveway, and/or front porch. Don't stop there however; windows and doors need cleaned as well.

It's no secret to seasoned and successful real estate brokers that appealing homes sell faster than dull ugly ones. Do not overlook this powerful piece of advice and you should enjoy more money for your home plus have it sell quicker.
